Limited Hiring Expected In The Second Quarter of 2019: Manpower Survey
It looks like it might be a tough go for job seekers in the coming months, according to the latest employment outlook survey results from Manpower.
Its most recent survey found that just 10 per cent of local employers asked plan to hire in the upcoming quarter, with 7 per cent expecting to cut jobs.
The remaining 83 per cent of respondents are set to maintain current staffing levels.
"With seasonal variations removed from the data, Kingston's second quarter Net Employment Outlook of four per cent is a two percentage point decrease when compared to the previous quarterly Outlook," said Anne-Marie Lanthier of Manpower's Kingston office. "It is also a four percentage point decrease from the Outlook reported during the same time last year, indicating a soft hiring pace for the upcoming months."
