Teen Charged With Terrorism Offfences Released On Bail With Conditions

A local youth charged with terrorism-related offences was released with strict conditions following a bail hearing Wednesday.

The youth cannot be identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Some of the conditions include a requirement to be in the presence of one of two approved family members at all times.

The teen is barred from using the internet unless it's approved for education reasons, and must remain in Ontario, surrender his passport and wear an RCMP-supplied electronic-monitoring device.

The youth was charged in late January with plotting a terrorist attack, though no specific target was identified.
