400 College Students at SLC Drop Out

Roughly 400 students at St. Lawrence College’s three campuses have dropped out ahead of  Tuesday's deadline to withdraw from their program and still receive a full refund without penalty.

Those numbers were recorded as of Friday, and are similar to last year, when there was no strike.

The attrition rate is lower than last year, as enrollment at St. Lawrence went up about 10 per-cent this year.

Students will stay in classes until December 22 with the first semester ending on January 12.

More than 500 thousand students were kept out of class during the five-week faculty strike at the province's 24 colleges.
