Another Heat Wave Expected for the Long Weekend Ahead
If you're missing the scorching temperatures we experienced in early July, they'll be back this month.
According to Environment Canada, another heat wave is expected for the long weekend ahead, pushing humidex values into the high 30s.
Overall, August is expected to be slightly above seasonal for this time of year, when the average daytime high temperature is 26 degrees.
Looking back on the month of July, no temperature records were broken in Kingston, despite the heat wave that blanketed most of the province.
Meteorologist with Environment Canada, Gerald Cheng, says the average daytime high for Kingston was 27 degrees, and 25.9 is the norm.
When it comes to precipitation, 57.4 millimetres was recorded in the month of July, but just 7 millimetres of rain fell in the first 15 days.
The average amount of precipitation is 64.3 millimetres.
