Bondfield Construction to Build Kingston's New High School

The Limestone District School board has chosen a contractor to build Kingston's new high school.

Bondfield Construction is expected to have shovels in the ground at the former QECVI site by the end of the month.

It's expected to take two  years to complete the build which will cost roughly $38.3-million.

That's roughly $2-million over what the Ministry of Education set aside for construction but was the lowest bid among six others.

The new school will accommodate 1,340 students and will feature 34 secondary classrooms and nine intermediate classrooms.

Bondfield built Sir John A. Public School in the city's east end.
