Call Before You Dig
Call before you dig.
Whether you're planting a tree, building a deck or a fence, Utilities Kingston says you need to find out where cables and pipes are buried on your property.
Residents are eligible for a free "locate in advance" service so you know where underground infrastructure is on your property to avoid costly accidents.
Every time you dig anywhere on your property, you could damage underground services and that can have serious consequences.
A ruptured gas line could explode, a cut water line could cause floods, and severed communication lines mean the loss of essential services.
If you do damage a gas line underground, you could be liable for expensive restoration costs.
All you have to do is contact Ontario One Call at 1-800-400-2255 at least a week before you plan to dig.
