Cellphone Dispute Leads to Assault Charges

A Kingston man, 29,  has been arrested after Police say he threatened his spouse with a knife during an altercation over her cellphone.

It's alleged that during the altercation on Sunday evening , the accused grabbed the victim by the throat, head butted her and then tried to prevent her from leaving.

The incident was reported to police the following morning by the victim's family.

Police say further investigation revealed a similar incident occurred earlier in the month.

The accused was charged with three counts of assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, utter threats, and forcible confinement.
