City and Habitat for Humanity Host Affordable Home Ownership Information Session
The City has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to host an affordable home ownership information night.
Affordable housing programs available in Kingston will be explained in detail at the Rideau Heights Community Centre on Wednesday, September 19, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
"A focus of the City's 10-Year Housing and Homelessness Plan is to invest in sustainable housing opportunities for residents that range from social housing to home ownership. Last year, ten households were assisted with the City's home ownership program," says Sheldon Laidman, director, housing and social services.
Staff will be available at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the programs and a formal presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m.
"Habitat for Humanity's affordable home ownership program provides families with inadequate housing an opportunity to own their home, building stability and long-term housing security," says Susan Zambonin, chief executive officer, Habitat for Humanity Kingston Limestone Region.
