City and Utilities Kingston Schedules Affected by Thanksgiving Holiday

You can expect some schedule changes to city services  because of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

There will be no garbage or recycling collection on Monday, October 8, which means your bins and bags will be picked up a day after your normal pick up time for the rest of the week.

The Kingston Area Recycling Centre is also closed Monday.

All Kingston Transit buses will run on a Sunday schedule on Monday, with the exception of Route 18, which will be on its regular weekday schedule.

Kingston Access Services will operates with limited service on Monday.

You are being asked to call 613-542-2512 in advance, if you do need to be dropped off somewhere.

All administrative offices, including housing and social services and provincial offences, are closed Monday.

Same thing goes for Utilities Kingston and Kingston Hydro.

If there is a utility emergency, such as a gas smell, power outage or a water main break, call the Utilities Kingston 24-hour number at 613-546-1181.

Hydro One customers in the west and east end can call 1-800-434-1235, while Union Gas customers can call 1-877-969-0999.

The INVISTA Centre, Fitness and Wellness Centre, Artillery Park, Caraco Home Field and arenas will all be closed on Monday.

All branches of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library are also closed Monday.

The Confederation Basin Marina office will be open, along with the fueling stations at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, but the office will be closed Monday.

The Grand Theatre Box Office, Tett Centre and museums will close their doors for Thanksgiving.
