City Offers Financial Assistance for Low Income Families

Financial assistance is available for low income families that need help renovating their home or who want to buy a home of their own.

Eligible Kingstonians can apply for a forgivable loan of up to $10,000 to help assist with home repairs or to put a down payment on a property.

Two different programs are available, so if you are interested in applying, get in touch with the housing and social services department at 362 Montreal Street.

"These are just two of the programs offered by the housing and social services department to assist households in maintaining or acquiring a home, which supports one of City council's priorities to increase the number of affordable housing units in the community," says Sheldon Laidman, director, housing and social services.
