City Strikes Deals with Unions
Following a month of negotiations, the City has reached a deal with its largest union.
Civic workers, who do everything from fixing roads to garbage collection and by-law enforcement, have ratified a new contract with the city that includes a wage increase of 5.2 per-cent over four years.
It also includes slight increases in benefits and long term disability benefits.
The city's firefighters also reached a new deal with the city but without an arbitrator.
Details on that contract remain unknown.
