Collision Causes Power Outage in City's North End
Some people in the city's north end were without power for over five hours on Monday morning.
Around 1:30 a.m., a vehicle collided with a bus shelter on Montreal Street, knocking over a hydro poll in the process that caused over 250 homes and businesses to lose power.
The man behind the wheel, 27, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Power was restored by Utilities Kingston crews shortly after 7:30 a.m.
As a result of the crash, Montreal Street is expected to remain closed in both directions between Weller and McCauley until about 12:00 p.m., Monday.
