Contraband Seized at Collins Bay Institution
A number of unauthorized items have been seized at Collins Bay Institution.
The package was discovered early Friday afternoon on the perimeter of the minimum-security unit.
It contained 94 packages of tobacco, four boxes of rolling papers, and eight boxes of cigars.
The institutional value of the items is estimated to be just over $14,000.
Police have since been notified and an investigation is underway.
The Correctional Service of Canada introduced a complete smoking ban in all federal correctional institutions in 2008.
