Crews Battle Wild Fire in Central Frontenac Township

Central Frontenac Fire and Rescue were back on the scene of a wild fire putting out hot spots Tuesday morning.

CFFR received a call from a resident around 5:00 p.m., reporting their power out and they could smell smoke in the area.

It was discovered in a remote area between Mclean Road and Fox Road.

Due to the size of the fire, remote location, and the fire threatening a large area of pine and cedar, CFFR requested assistance from the Ministry of Natural Resources

MNR water bombers and a helicopter fire crew were called in help extinguish the flames, which were brought under control around 8:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is the result of a tree falling on power lines and igniting.
