Defence Lawyer Sues Mohammad Shafia

The defence lawyer for a member of the Shafia family is suing for unpaid legal fees.

David Crowe represented Tooba Mohammad Yahya between 2009 and 2012 on four counts of murder and says he is owed more than $100,000.

The civil suit is actually against her husband, Mohammad Shafia, who Crowe says was supposed to pay the defence costs.

Shafia, along with other lawyers involved in the criminal trial are scheduled to appear in court at the civil trial this week.
