Driver Charged in Cyclist Collision

The driver of the vehicle who struck multiple cyclists from the "7 Days In May" charity group on Highway 33, west of Amherstview this past Sunday, has been charged.

Robert Saunders, 51, from Kingston, is charged with two counts of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle causing Bodily Harm.

OPP say around 3:30 p.m., a group of cyclists were stationary on Bath Road when three of them were struck by a vehicle.

One of the cyclists hit was critically injured and is still recovering at KGH.

The collision that shut down Bath Road between County Road 6 and Jim Snow Road for nearly nine hours.
