Former Teacher Sentenced for Historical Sex Crimes

A former school teacher and OHL billet has been sentenced to eight months behind bars for historical sex assaults.

Neil Joynt, 76, was found guilty in October of assaulting two boys in the 60s and 70s.

Joynt also received a 10-year weapons ban, will be on the Sex Offender Registry for life, and his DNA will be submitted to the National DNA Data Bank.

The judge in the case says he would have sentenced him more severely if it wasn't for his age and health.
