Frontenac County Defends Decision To Lift Heavy Vehicle Restrictions On Howe Island Ferry
Frontenac County Council stands by its decision to lift loading restrictions on the Howe Island Ferry for vehicles supporting agricultural operations.
The response comes after lawyers for a small group of islanders announced plans to apply for a judicial review of that vote.
The County did seek legal advice before making a decision back in November which allows the agriculture vehicles to be ferried to and from the island regardless of the time of day.
Restrictions on other heavy vehicles that are more that 45 metric tonnes remains in place.
