Funeral Details Released for MP Gord Brown

MP for Leeds-Grenville, Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, Gord Brown will be laid to rest on Thursday, May 10.  

Brown passed away suddenly in Ottawa on May 2, and is survived by his loving wife, Claudine Courtois and his two sons Chance, and Tristan.

On Wednesday, May 9, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation for the 57 year-old at Tompkins Funeral Home in Gananoque from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

The funeral service will take place at the Lou Jeffries Recreation Center in Gananoque at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, followed by a graveside service at Gananoque Cemetery.

Following the service, there will be a reception at the Firehall theatre in Gananoque from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Brown was a Member of Parliament since June 2004, and he was known for adocating-cating for his constituents in Ottawa, working tirelessly to improve the riding.

He was renowned for his ability to unite MPs from all parties to advance the issues that were important to him and his constituents.

 In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations be made in Brown's name through to a GoFundMe Account for the Second Pad Ice Rink that Gord was hoping to develop for the town of Gananoque.
