Hamilton Man Charged with Impaired Driving in Truck Collision

A Hamilton driver is facing charges after a tractor-trailer slammed into a stationary construction sign truck on Highway 401 near Brockville.

OPP say an occupant of the sign truck suffered non-life threatening injuries in the collision Tuesday night and the tractor-trailer operator fled the scene leaving his driver's side door behind.
The truck, and driver, were located west of the crash site at a service centre in Mallorytown.

Police say the driver behind the wheel had double the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

The man, 31, was charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and failing to stop at a collision.
