Housemates Intervention Helps to End a Sexual Assault
A Scarborough man, 20, has been charged after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman when she had him to her place for dinner.
On January 13, the victim had the accused, whom she had been casually dating, over to her house for dinner.
After the two shared a meal, and conversation in her room, it's alleged the accused sexually assaulted the victim.
The victim's roommates were able to interfere, when they overheard a commotion and yelling coming from her room.
The next day, the woman attended the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence clinic at Kingston General Hospital, and reported the incident to police.
The accused was located at his home on January 31, arrested, and transported to Kingston Police headquarters.
He was charged with sexual assault and released with a future court date.
