Kingston Fire & Rescue to Observe Minute of Silence on September 11
Kingston Fire and Rescue will be observing one minute of silence in honour of the victims of the September 11, 2001 tragedy on the 16th Anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Centre.
They will gather at Station 4 on Brock Street and Station 7 on Woodbine Road to pause for a moment of silence at 9:59 a.m., which was the time of the collapse of the south tower of the World Trade Center.
In New York City, Relatives of the nearly 3,000 people killed in the attacks gathered to read the names of their loved ones at a ceremony at ground zero.
24 Canadians were among the victims.
Ceremonies are also taking place at the Pentagon and the Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
