Kingston Man Charged with Attempted Murder
A Kingston man, 48, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly breaking into his ex's home and choking her.
Police say the accused entered the victim's home through an unlocked door, found his ex in her bedroom, and allegedly began to choke her.
The victim was able to grab a nearby bat and hit the accused with it, but he took the bat, allegedly struck her, and then resumed his attempt to choke her until she was unconscious.
A friend and the victim's daughter heard her call for help, but were unable to stop the attack, so they called Police.
The accused was arrested and charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon, attempt murder, and five counts of breach probation.
The victim was taken to hospital where she re-gained consciousness.
