Kingston Marks National Day of Action and Remembrance on Violence Against Women
December 6 marks a day recognized annually in Canada as the National Day of Action and Remembrance on Violence against Women.
In 1989, fourteen women were murdered by a lone gunman walking through the halls of l'Ecole Polytechnique.
Once again this year, Kingstonians will gather this evening to honour the women who lost their lives in Montreal and also for the women and children in our own community who live with violence in their homes or who have been victims of violence in the past.
A vigil will be held at Sydenham Street United Church at 5:00 p.m.
