Kingston Transit's Annual "Stuff the Bus" Event this Saturday

Kingston Transit will team up with the the Salvation Army again this year, to collect food for the annual Christmas food drive.

Non-perishable food donations and person hygiene products will be collected in the parking lot of  the Loblaws on Midland Avenue on Saturday, December 2 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

"We have been assisting with the Salvation Army's food drive since 2004," says Jeremy DaCosta, general manager, Kingston Transit.

"Last year, with just one bus to stuff, we collected a record 1,874 non-perishable food and personal hygiene items. We are hoping, with two buses, to double that amount this year. As always, our goal is to encourage shoppers to give hope to those in need this holiday season by 'stuffing our bus' with as many non-perishable food items as they can."

In 2016, the Salvation Army served close to 13,000 individuals, and provided over 6,500 families with food and clothing.
