Large Drug Bust on Rideau Street
A man, 28, and a woman, 26, have been arrested by the Kingston Police Drug Unit.
The arrests follow a large drug bust by undercover officers on Rideau Street Friday morning.
Around 10:00 a.m., undercover officers sat on Rideau Street watching an unattended car with stolen plates attached.
When the accused got into the car and prepared to drive away, the unmarked police cars pulled up to box them in.
The driver then allegedly rammed the cruiser and a fire hydrant in an effort to get away.
After a brief struggle, both were taken into Police custody.
The drugs seized were suspected heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine.
The pair face a total of 22 charges including; carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon (replica firearm), possession of proceeds of crime, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, dangerous driving, breach of probation, fail to comply with judicial release, and fail to comply with undertaking.
