Learn about Ticks and Lyme Disease at Information Sessions

Ticks are thriving in the Kingston region.

That's why KFL&A Public Health have organized two public information session to teach you how to avoid, remove ticks, identify and treat Lyme disease.

Even though not all ticks carry Lyme disease, in 2016 about a third of the ticks submitted for testing in the region had the disease.

The first information session is scheduled for Monday, April 30, at 6:00 p.m. from the Joyceville Fire Station at 1648 Joyceville Road.

The second is set for Saturday, May 5 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cataraqui Arena at 1030 Sunnyside Road.

Ticks in our region are usually found in damp environments in woody and brushy areas.
