Local Robotics Team Qualifies for World Championship
A group of students from the Limestone District School Board have earned a spot at the 2017 First World Championship robotics competition in Missouri.
The team, Team 4476 - W.A.F.F.L.E.S., consists of 21 students from 7 different schools in the Kingston area, and ranked among the top teams in the province to earn their way to the big show later this month.
The group is currently hoping to raise $6,700 to help pay their way.
“We work to build strong and confident students by providing them with opportunities for leadership and growth while working alongside mentors from Queen’s University and local businesses,” says Eden Bibic, current grade 12 student and Captain of FRC Team 4476, the robotics team for students in grade 7 through 12.
“Being involved in FIRSTⓇ programs has changed my life. It’s amazing what people can learn if they just come out and give it a try!”
