Local School Boards Approve Balanced Budgets
Trustees with both the Limestone District School Board and The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board have approved balanced budgets for the 2017-18 school year.
The ALCDSB will have an operating budget of $152.9 million and a capital budget of $9.4 million.
The LDSB budget is set and includes total expenses of just over $268-million.
Part of the Limestone budget will be used to make Improvements to parent and community engagement through technology investments and upgrades to school websites, notifications and alerts.
The LDSB serves 19,000 students in 57 schools and eight education centres.
The ALCDSB has over 11,000 elementary and secondary students, with over 1300 full-time staff.
