Man Arrested after Early Morning Dispute in Coffee Shop
A Kingston man, 27, has been charged with assaulting his girlfriend following an argument in a coffee shop.
Around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, the accused and victim were arguing inside a coffee shop on Princess Street about their relationship coming to an end.
Police say when the victim tried to leave, the accused followed her to the door, pushed her and took away her keys.
When she tried to get her keys back, the accused allegedly grabbed her right hand with enough force to cause visible injuries.
The accused flagged down the first responding officer to report his side of the incident, but after speaking with both parties and witnesses, the accused was arrested.
He was transported to Police Headquarters and charged with assault.
