Mayor of Prescott Echoes Calls to Widen 401 following Bus Crash

The mayor of Prescott is renewing his call to add an extra lane of traffic in each direction on the stretch of Highway 401 where a tour bus crashed on Monday.

A Chinese man, 54, was killed when the bus hit a rock cut at the side of the highway between Brockville and Prescott.

23 other people on the bus were injured, with four of them remaining in hospital in serious, life-threatening condition.

Prescott Mayor Brett Todd says the time has come to widen the highway, which has become dangerous and congested.

The Chinese government says the travel agency involved in a tour bus crash must take care of any medical treatment and compensation required.
