Modest Hiring Climate Anticipated for Kingston Next Quarter
For those of you searching for a new job, new data shows 7 per-cent of employers in Kingston plan to hire for the upcoming quarter.
According to the latest Manpower Group Employment Outlook Survey, a modest hiring climate is anticipated between October and December.
Only 3 per-cent of employers anticipate cutbacks, while 90 per-cent of respondents plan to maintain their current staffing levels.
"With seasonal variations removed from the data, Kingston's fourth quarter Net Employment Outlook of eight per cent is a six percentage point decrease when compared to the previous quarterly Outlook," says Anne-Marie Lanthier of Manpower's Kingston office.
Across Canada, job prospects are the strongest in the public administration sector.
"With the unemployment rate hovering near 40-year lows, competition for talent is heating up across the country," said Darlene Minatel, Country Manager for Manpower Group Canada.
"Skilled trades and bilingual candidates are especially in demand, causing upward pressure on wages and an increase in permanent full-time hiring as the need to improve retention becomes more urgent."
