Napanee OPP Charge Six People for Stunt Driving
Napanee OPP had a busy long weekend.
Officers charged six individuals for Stunt Driving, three of whom were stopped on Friday morning.
One driver was found driving in excess of 130 kilometres per hour in a posted 80 zone, the second was clocked at 157 kilometres on the 401, while a third motorist was charged for driving in excess of 150 kilometres per hour on the highway.
On Friday night, a driver on Deseronto Road was stopped for driving 197 kilometres per hour in a 80 zone, which is two and a half times the posted speed.
On Monday, two drivers were stopped on the 401 and charged with stunt driving before 7:00 a.m.
In all cases, the vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days, and the drivers received a licence suspension for seven days.
The OPP want to remind drivers to slow down, as speed remains the number one factor in fatal collisions on Ontario Highways.
