New Traffic Signals on King Street
New traffic signals have been installed on King Street and Lower University Avenue.
The goal is to improve safe pedestrian access to and from Breakwater Park.
"Pedestrians and cyclists need the traffic signal so they can safely cross the street between the park and the hospital," says Deanna Green, manager, traffic division.
"This area is increasingly well-used by students and the many who work and visit the area and it's hoped the improvements to Breakwater Park will draw even more to use the waterfront trail."
Roughly 18,000 vehicles a day travel along the busy stretch of King Street by the park and Kingston General Hospital.
