New Youth Transition Home to Open in April

A new transition home for youth is set to open next month.

It will be the second transition home run by the Kingston Youth Shelter and will provide housing for half a dozen teens.

Youth between the ages of 16 and 19 that are either homeless or one step away from living on the streets will have to apply to be a part of the program.

The goal is to teach teens important life skills, like setting a budget, to help them eventually move into permanent housing.

Brit Smith donated $1.2-million to build the home.
