City Hosts Zoning Bylaw Open House

Following the success of the City of Kingston's Zoning 101 class earlier in October, planning officials want your suggestions on topics for more one-time classes.

"We know there is a deep interest in the City's roles, policies, rules and regulations around planning. We want to engage that interest," says Laura MacCormick, project manager.

"We want to answer people's questions about processes and clarify what we do and how our policies work. This interest demonstrates how much love there is for Kingston. We all want it to grow in a way that keeps it livable and beautiful."

You can request future class topics by emailing the planning department at NewZBL@cityofkingston.ca.

You can also attend the Zoning Bylaw Open House Thursday, October 27 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall, at City Hall.

The city currently has five zoning bylaws regulating property-use in Kingston.

Once completed, the City-wide Zoning Bylaw will guide how people use land and buildings and what kinds of buildings can be built where.
