City Releases Active Transportation Survey Results

The results of the City's Active Transportation Survey are in.

Of the 300 participants, more than 80 per-cent of pedestrians said they felt safe walking in the city, while less than 40 per-cent of polled cyclists said they felt safe.

"The results provide a picture of how survey participants travel throughout the city - and what would encourage them to walk, cycle or wheel to their destinations more often, " says Deanna Green, manager, traffic division.

Weather, busy roads with no crosswalk or traffic signals and road maintenance were listed as the top reasons why people didn't choose to walk or bike in Kingston.
