Former Priest Sentenced to Jail Time

Retired Roman Catholic priest, Robin Quinton Gwyn, has been sentenced to three years in jail.

Gwyn, 69, was convicted in September of sexually assaulting a young boy in Kingston in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The judge said he will also be added to the Sex Offender Information Registry for 20 years and will not be allowed to attend public parks, swimming areas or places that children could be expected to be present for the next 20 years.

He has also been barred from volunteering in any capacity that places him in a position of trust or authority for anyone under 16 years of age.

He may also not have personal contact with children under 16 unless supervised by an adult approved by the court.
