Goat Farming Information Sessions Begin Thursday
Two of three Goat Farming Industry Information Sessions will be held Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and then again from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Frontenac County Administration Offices.
The sessions will be co-hosted by the Kingston Economic Development Corporation along with guest speakers from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA).
“The Kingston Economic Development Corporation is thrilled that Feihe International selected Kingston for their Canadian infant formula manufacturing facility," says Carey Bidtnes, Business Development Officer, Kingston Economic Development Corporation.
"This project will provide multiple opportunities for both local and regional economic development from the construction of the plant to the company’s plans to produce goat milk based infant formula."
The sessions are full with more than 200 registered attendees who hope to learn more about the industry, including regulations, and start-up considerations.
The local production of goat milk is being encouraged ahead of the construction of the new Feihe International infant formula plant that uses milk in its products.
