Man Passes Out Behind Wheel in Intersection
A Kingston man, 27, faces impaired driving charges after he was found by police, passed out behind the wheel in the middle of a busy intersection.
Police got a call about a possible drunk driver around 4:00 a.m. Sunday, at the intersection of Dalton and Division.
When police arrived, the man was slumped over the steering wheel and the car was locked so officers had to knock repeatedly on the window to wake the driver up.
When the driver rolled down his window, officers say they could smell alcohol and arrested him on the grounds that he was impaired.
He was taken to police headquarters where police say he blew double the legal limit and was charged with impaired driving and operating a vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol.
He was released with a future court date, had his drivers licence suspended for 90 days, and car impounded for a week.
