Nominations Open for Countryside District Councillor
The city is now accepting nominations to fill the vacant seat on council.
An information session for prospective candidates interested in representing Countryside District will be held on Wednesday, March 1 at the Glenburnie Fire Hall from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
The session will give an overview of what's involved with being a councillor, including details about the city's governance model, the municipal by-election process, time commitments and remuneration.
Nomination Papers and Declaration of Qualification Forms are available in the office of the city clerk and must be completed by March 31.
A $100 filing fee applies.
The nomination must be signed by the candidate and filed during business hours Monday to Friday until Thursday, March 30 or between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on March 31.
The by-election to replace Allen, is currently scheduled for May 15.
