SUV Crashes Into House Following Road Rage Incident

Kingston Police are looking for witnesses and the other driver involved in a serious case of road rage.

Thursday around 12:30 a.m., police say two women had a disagreement at a coffee shop.

One of the women sped out of the parking lot, and was allegedly followed by the other woman, who was tailgating her at a high rate of speed down Centennial Drive.

The woman being followed tapped her breaks, forcing the other woman to swerve to avoid a collision.

The woman who swerved lost control of her SUV, hit the ditch near Waterloo Drive, went airborne, and took out a street light pole before coming to a stop, and crashed into the side of a garage attached to a home.

The driver was assessed at the scene and taken to hospital with minor injuries and she now faces one count of careless driving.

That charge carries a fine between $400 and $2,000, and can include jail time, in addition to a licence suspension up to two years.

Police say a red SUV was also seen in the area and the driver may be a witness.
