Odessa Woman Charged with Impaired Driving After Taking Shortcut to Bar

An Odessa woman, 34,  is facing more than a red card after allegedly driving across a soccer field to get to a local bar.

Kingston Police were called to the Invista Center on Gardiners Road late Tuesday night, after witnesses reported the incident.

When officers arrived, they found the vehicle parked sideways across two wheelchair parking spaces with grass lodged in its front end.

The driver was found inside the bar, it was determined she was intoxicated, and she was arrested.

Police say breath tests later revealed she had more than three and a half times the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

The woman charged with impaired driving and operating a vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol.

She released with a future court date, but her driver's licence was automatically suspended for 90 days.

The vehicle was seized and impounded for seven days, and she is responsible for all fees and fines.

If convicted, she could face a one year suspension.
