OMB Hearing Pushed to Year's End
The Ontario Municipal Board hearing on the controversial Capitol Condo development is expected to begin later this year.
A preliminary hearing began on Monday to firm up the positions on both sides of the project.
The main argument remains that a 15 storey building is too high for the downtown and will have a negative impact on surrounding low-rise heritage buildings.
The company behind the project, IN-8 Developments says they have already come down from the original 21 storey proposal and won't budge on the height no matter how long it takes to break ground.
The full hearing, when it finally takes place, could last up to two weeks.
