Ontario's Lieutenant Governor to Speak at Family and Children's Services Graduation
Ontario's Lieutenant Governor will be the keynote speaker at the Family and Children's Services Graduation event Monday evening.
The honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell will help celebrate the educational achievement of youth in foster care.
Just under 30 youth will be graduating from grade 8, grade 12 and post secondary school.
$50,000 in bursaries will be awarded to those moving on to College and University.
The graduation ceremony is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. on June 11, from the Family and Children's Service office on Division Street.
The Lieutenant Governor will be meeting prior to the event with a group of youth in foster care to discuss the role of education in their lives.
It is the first Children's Aid Society graduation event attended by the Queen's representative in Ontario ever.
