Parents of Infant Charged with Aggravated Assault
Kingston Police say a mother and father both face aggravated assault charges in connection with injuries suffered by their infant son.
Officers were called to the Kingston Community Health Centre on December 23, after an injured three-week-old baby was brought in by his mother, 26.
The mother was charged with aggravated assault on the same day, but police say further investigation and information from doctors has now led to the father also being charged with aggravated assault.
The father, 31, has also been charged with breach of probation and assault against another child, a six-year old from the mother's previous relationship.
Police say the infant remains under medical supervision and is in the custody of Children's Aid.
