Police Arrest Suspected Impaired Driver with Child in Back Seat

A Bath man, 44,  is accused of driving drunk with a child in the back seat.

Kingston Police got multiple calls concerning the sobriety of a man downtown early Saturday evening.

When officers initially tried to stop the vehicle around 6:30 p.m., he allegedly sped up Brock Street and started making multiple land changes and turns.

With help from other patrol officers, the vehicle was brought to a safe stop and blocked in at the intersection of Bath and Portsmouth.

The accused was arrested for impaired driving but refused to provide a breath sample.

Police say the child in the back seat was obviously shaken but unharmed.
