Police Crack Down on Drunk Drivers New Year's Eve

Kingston Police were busy New Years Eve and arrested at least two people for impaired driving.

An Odessa man, 23, was stopped about 10 minutes after a RIDE program was set up at Princess and Sydenham Streets.

He failed the roadside test, and was taken to station headquarters for a breath test, where Police say he blew two times over the legal limit.

Not long after, officers arrested a second impaired driver, after responding to a single vehicle collision with a rock wall at Leroy Grant.

A man, 46, was charged initially with impaired driving, and then ‘Over 80’ when he blew one and a half times over the legal limit.

Official numbers have yet to be released from Police.
