Queen's Homecoming Celebrations Kick Off Friday

It's homecoming weekend at Queen's and thousands of alumni are expected to be in the Limestone City for the festivities.

Some highlights include a football game at Richardson Stadium Saturday afternoon and the ReUnion Street Festival music concert on Saturday night.

Union Street will be closed from University to Division between 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday for the Alma Mater Society Reunion Festival.

Kingston Police will be prepared for lots of partying and will be targeting so called pancake keggers in the University District.

More than 70 officers assigned to the area Friday night and more than 160 on Saturday.

If need be, Police will be issuing fines for blocking roads and sidewalks, carrying open liquor, public intoxication and underage drinking.
     
Last year, police made 19 arrests and issued 166 tickets or charges during homecoming events.
