SIU Investigating Vehicle Fatality in Napanee

Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding Tuesday's collision in Napanee that resulted in the death of a woman, 88,  and serious injuries to a man, 42.

Around 3:30 p.m., OPP attempted to stop an SUV traveling at a high rate of speed on Bridge Street.

During this time, the SUV collided with another vehicle on highway 2.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the SUV was transported to hospital with a serious injury.

The woman has since been identified as Florence Wyatt-Morris.

As a result, Highway 2 was shut down between Old Hamburg Road and Switzerville Road for about 12 hours.

Five investigators, four forensic investigators and one collision reconstructionist have been assigned to the case.
The SIU is urging anyone who may have information about this investigation to contact them at 1-800-787-8529.

Anyone who may have any video evidence related to this incident, is also being urged to get in touch with investigators.

The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
